Imported from the world coffee growing regions, these coffee offer a variety of taste characters.
The three month club offers coffee from the following regions:
Ethiopia is the land where coffee originates. The coffee character is wild and winey.
For hundreds of years Ethiopia kept their wonderful coffee a secret from the world. In the 1800's Dutch pirates smuggled the coffee plant out of Ethiopia and into Indonesia. There the coffee plants thrived but the taste characteristics were different. The coffee from Indonesia is earthy, heavier.
The third area of the world to cultivate coffee was Central/South America. Here the coffee grows easily in the rich soils and once again the taste is unique. The coffees of Central/South America are known for being mild, smooth.
We start with the same coffees as the three month club but then we continue with the story.
The next area you find coffee cultivated after Central/South America is Africa. The coffee plant had come full circle. Month four we will send a pound of Kenya coffee. Kenya coffee has a sharp, bright cup.
Ethiopian coffees were shipped out of the port of Moka. When the arrived in Indonesia at the port of Java sometimes the coffee from Moka and the coffee of Java were mingled creating one of the first blends - Moka Java. This is the coffee sent in month five.
The six month we will send a pound of Costa Rica coffee. Grown in the rich volcanic soils of Costa Rica, these coffees are some of the best in the world.
